So I went skating with Gini and her two friends today. Caelin and Sarah are two of the coolest people I've ever met. I took an instant liking to Caelin as soon as we started talking about Evangelion.
"It's funny," she said. "I never cry during real movies. But anime, I cry all the time. It does things to me that real live movies can't do. It's funny how animation can do that."
I immeadiately loved this girl. It didn't help that she's traveled all overthe world and can speak a million Japanese phrases. Ditto with Sarah, although she was a little more close to my level, not the goddess fangirl that Caelin was. Although she still was more hardcore than me. Plus, she's a slashfiend, complete with twincest, Harry/Draco, and enough shonen ai to scar most people for life.
After I left Steak N Shake, all I could think of was, "I gotta introduce these people to HpC." That's how cool they were. Going to dance afterwards kind of sucked. How can you compare two kindred spirits to a bunch of overdramatic beauty queens? No, I was happy with my billingual, obsessive, hilarious friends.
The compliments on my hair continue to grow. Yes, I know I'm hot. Eat your heart out.
Later on, I talked to Gabby for three hours on the phone. I miss her so much after just a week of not seeing her. As soon as she called, I knew it was her. I sprang right up and said, "Gabby loves me." Minutes later, my brother came down with the phone. We talk so much, about politics and God and stupid things, like how we used to make people believe that we were fighting with Ren and Kate, and how they believed us. You don't forget great friends, and you can't leave them behind. In that way, Gabby continues to be a great pressence in my life. She, along with Ren and Kate, have rubbed off on me. And sometimes the things people like about me are just habits and phrases I've picked off from them, like I'm some big copycat stew or something.
I miss them.
I'm happy, but I miss them.
